Ashore - Shore Excursions |
This is your chance to visit new places, view the sights, learn the culture, shop for souvenirs or just sunbathe and swim on sandy beaches. You will know from your ship itinerary what ports you are going to see and when.

Shore excursions are primarily set out to show you the sights of the port and nearby places. However in recent times these have become more adventurous whereby helicopters flights, four wheel driving, biking, diving and horse riding have been included. The shore excursions are organised by cruise lines but can be purchased quayside which tends to be slightly cheaper. Cruise line tours are covered by the ships insurance therefore it will not depart without you, unless you do your own thing.
If you didn’t book a premium tour your excursion will have a comfortable bus, driver and local guide who can speak your language. Costs range from £20 - £35 per person for a half day tour and £45 - £ for a full day tour. If you are on a cruise that’s very port intensive it can be quite costly but it gives you a chance to visit many places.
The cruise line you are with should send you a Shore Excursion brochure with all your cruise tickets listing. It will describe all the destinations of each shore excursion. Many cruise lines now let you book these in advance and one some websites you can book them online!
